A mattress does not go in the trash cart. It also should not be left in a canyon or an alley behind a North Park building. The city and county have places that take mattresses if you can bring them yourself. Most calls we get are the other way. A queen or king is upstairs in Hillcrest. A wet guest bed is in a Pacific Beach condo. A box spring is left after a move in City Heights.
A mattress is one piece. A box spring is one piece. A twin is lighter. A king is not. Add the frame only if you want that hauled too. Curbside mattress hauling costs less when the bed is already at the driveway, garage, or alley. Full-service mattress hauling means we carry it down the stairs from a bedroom. We do that job every week in buildings with no elevator. If the mattress is very dirty, wrap it in plastic before we arrive so the stairs stay clean.
We do not try to save a mattress for someone else to sleep on. We take it to a place that accepts old mattresses when we can. Hauling it yourself means renting a truck, finding a helper, and driving across town on a Saturday. Text a photo of the bed and the stairs. We will tell you the mattress hauling price before we come.
